Confident With Your Body But Not Your Smile? Supplements That Cause Stains And Why
LEARN HOW YOU CAN PROTECT YOUR WHITE TEETH FROM COFFEE STAINS
Going to the gym has its own pros and cons. And although we all want to hear about the good benefits of going to the gym, it’s pretty much essential to know the negative aspects of it, too. So let’s start with the basics… why does one go to the gym? The reasons range from wanting to look sexy, going on a healthy diet, maintaining a figure, and so on. Other people go to the gym for one main reason: to gain more confidence.
If you’re a habitual gym member, you’re probably aware that there are certain supplements that gym trainers will want to implement in your path to a healthier body. While it’s pretty much okay to take heed of their advice, it’s better to get to know the different gym supplements that will ultimately “stain” your confidence and why. Let’s start with…
Although iron tablets won't discolor your teeth, it will eventually turn them yellow at one point. This may be a temporary endeavour, but it's pretty much not a good sight if you’re always on the go and meeting people right after hitting the gym and taking your dose of iron supplements. In order to minimize the staining of your teeth, you will need to dilute the liquid in a half glass of water and probably drink it through a straw.
There’s a gym myth that protein powder can gradually discolor your teeth, turning them yellowish... and nobody wants that. While meals that are high in protein do not necessarily cause discoloration, there's a high chance that supplements do. If you truly want some protein intake, maybe try going for protein shakes instead of protein powders in order to limit your teeth staining probability.
There are some instances where fish oil can cause some discoloration on your teeth. You may notice some general increase in the darkening or staining of your teeth once you're on a fish oil diet; when you scrape off the outer layer on your teeth, you'll notice some discoloration to come off. This may be a pretty common thing amongst fish oil dieters, but don't let this hinder your confidence! This may not be a sign of damage to your teeth, but it still looks utterly unhealthy seeing stained teeth just because of a supplement, right?
